Position Summary:
The D.C. United First team is looking for talented undergraduate or graduate students aspiring to enter the sports industry to join us as Equipment Interns for the Spring Semester of 2023.
D.C. United equipment interns will have the unique learning experience of working with a Major League Soccer team. Interns will shadow the role of D.C. United’s first team equipment managers and learn what it takes for a professional sports team to operate at a high level. Daily operations take place at the United Performance Center in Leesburg, VA.
The internship will begin January 8th and will conclude at the end of the student’s semester. This is an unpaid internship, and all interns MUST be receiving college credit for their work at D.C. United.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Shadow and assist coaching staff with a training field set up.
- Assist with organization of team gear and equipment.
- Assist with players/coaches equipment needs and preferences.
- Learn inventory management.
- Assist at D.C. United home games at Audi Field in Washington, DC.
Requirements:
- Eligible to receive college credit for internship
- Dedicate maximum of 25 hours a week to the internship
- Experience in sports is a plus
- Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
