Position Overview:
Chicago Fire Football Club is seeking a passionate Fan Engagement Coordinator who enjoys creating unique opportunities to provide a SPARK to fans of all ages! This individual will work closely across all departments to successfully implement club initiatives, brand activations and exciting events. This position is a multifaceted, ever-changing, detail oriented, but most importantly innovative and forward thinking. The Fan Engagement Coordinator will successfully coordinate, plan, and execute major events that drive engagement on behalf of the club, while assisting the team as the liaison with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating fun, unforgettable experiences with Chicago Fire FC for the community, fans, and the City of Chicago
- Function as the primary resource for administrative needs including, but not limited to: creating registration/survey forms, setting up run of show documents and assisting with communication between internal departments to help facilitate event logistics
- Provide support to club staff while planning, organizing, and managing event details on behalf of the club
- Help develop and implement new events and creative approaches, while increasing revenue opportunities at existing events while additionally building a successful fan journey
- Book spaces, entertainers, labor personnel, and schedule speakers where necessary
- Maintaining current industry and competitive landscape trends and regularly updating department with noteworthy opportunities
- Assist with planning, onsite set-up, day-of liaison to all volunteers, vendors and staff, and event clean-up as requested
- Provide a safe, clean and enjoyable environment by embracing fan feedback and finding solutions
- Promote and reward peers that demonstrate the Chicago Fire service standards
- Coordinate with Soldier Field, SeatGeek Stadium, Chicago Fire FC and/or external stakeholders to execute matchday elements
- Assist with the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of activation items including tents, tables, games, etc.
- Assist with overall supervision of part-time ambassador staff by scheduling time, deployment instructions, training, and orientation activities
- Assists team with various administrative tasks and other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 2 to 3 years of fan engagement, events, sports and/or entertainment experience preferred
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Must be able to commit to the Chicago Fire FC home match schedule
- Attend preseason and in-season service and recognition training sessions
- Must be active on your feet, remain engaged, and comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds
- Must be fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must know logistics and have a strong understanding of the event curation process
- Ability to organize tasks and schedules to ensure timely completion of all projects
- Comfortable working with fans of all ages and responding to questions and complaints for a diverse and passionate fanbase
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and adapt to change
- Maintain a positive attitude, personable, exciting, and informative mindset
- Strong verbal communication skills, demonstrate flexibility and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact courteously and respectfully with supervisors, fellow club staff, volunteers, vendors and fans, clients, and sponsors
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in emergency situations and to respond with appropriate action
- Creative, forward thinker who is resourceful and can think outside the box
- Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, performance-driven work environment
- Familiarity with MLS a plus, but not necessarily required
