EMPWR is a well renowned organisation based in Leicester and Leicestershire. Our operations fall under Education, Club, & Community, with a vision of empowering people through sport.

The main role of the successful applicant will be to coordinate current, and new projects and programmes in communities around Leicester and Leicestershire. There are many perks to this role, including free childcare during school holiday periods and free EMPWR kit and equipment.

This is a 35 hours per week position, with hours increasing up to 40 during busier periods. This full-time position is self-employed and protected by a SAC. The role requires a minimum of 3 evenings per week with an opportunity to work Saturday morning and early afternoons.  An example of a working week is illustrated below, but times and days may change based on needs of the programme.

Tuesday: 12-7:30

Wednesday: 12-7:30pm

Thursday: 10am -5:30 pm

Friday: 12-7:30pm

Saturday: 9am-2:30pm

We are looking for a pro-active individual with experience in coordination of sessions, events and programmes in the community. The successful candidate is ready to develop brand new sessions with great coordination skills and confidence in acquiring data on needs of various areas.

The administration allocation of the role can be conducted from home, and delivery will take place in various locations in Leicester and surrounding areas in the county. JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Sports in Education Lead, the successful candidate will coordinate established sessions in the community by upholding high quality coaching to participants themselves, as well as upskilling other coaches with a training and mentoring programme. The candidate will also be responsible for developing brand new sessions and acquiring funding for new long-term, sustainable programmes. Delivery will also be required, so high quality sessions are expected in a wide range of sport, with support from our dedicates session plan software.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining a high percentage of participant retention within current, established sessions.
  • Increasing capacity in current sessions for further participants by organically growing participation, along with support from our marketing and promotion lead.
  • Handling of the administration associated with all Club activities, with support from our administrator.
  • Conducting robust research in our areas of reach, to establish need of communities and identifying key areas to develop new areas.
  • Managing other coaches, part-time and casuals within any of the Club sessions, events and programmes.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of FA Level 2 or equivalent in any sport
  • Relevant degree in the Sports Sector
  • Previous Coordination experience/role in the sporting sector
  • Minimum of 2 years working in coaching
  • Hold a full UK driver’s license AND access to own car
  • Enhanced DBS and safeguarding clearance within 3 years of acquisition. The successful candidate will not be able to start the position without this.
