Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship

Stoke City Football Club is looking for an Assistant Accountant Apprentice to join its Finance department based at the bet365 Stadium.

We are looking for a self-motivated person willing to learn and take on new challenges with enthusiasm and a can do attitude.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful applicant will support various aspects of the finance function of this busy EFL Championship club.

Main Responsibilities:

• Ownership of the purchase ledger to ensure accurate and timely payment of suppliers.
• Processing staff expense claims.
• Reconciling bank accounts.
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, positive and friendly.
• Ability to multi task and prioritise work.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications, in particular Excel.
• Able to handle confidential information in a discrete manner.
• About to commence or working towards level 3 or level 4 AAT.

The position will be offered on a full time basis. All relevant training will be provided including study towards the AAT Accounting Technician qualification.
