Part time Coaching Entry Level Soccer Coach Womens Football

Job Description

About the role

Clapton Community Football Club Limited (CCFCL) is looking for a part-time Women’s and Non-Binary Player’s Development Team (WDT) Head Coach to support its team operations in East London.

The successful applicant will be responsible for coaching the WDT while working with the Women’s First team’s (W1T) coaching staff to maintain a cohesive identity and playing style between teams. Duties will include the planning and delivery of training sessions, coaching development team games every other Saturday, as well as supporting the Club's vision and identity in both developing people and players. The role will involve supporting the progression of players into the first team whilst supporting players from the first team who are playing reserve team football, and developing players who aren’t yet ready for a first-team environment or level. There is room for a committed coach to grow the identity of the WDT over time.

The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively across the matchday team and first team staff as well as maintaining values and culture in both internal and external environments. You will be able to build strong relationships with players to support their development, understanding individual differences in skill and experience, as well as being enthusiastic, passionate, caring and committed.

Clapton Community FC is a fan-owned club, committed to espousing values of solidarity, cooperation and equality. We are anti-fascist, anti-apartheid, and LGBTQIA+ inclusive.

As a coach, you’ll embody these values, and be able to commit to our club accountability agreement

Clapton is committed to the development of diversity in coaching in the historically male-dominated world of football. We’d like to take this moment to encourage you to apply even if you don’t have all of the skills listed below — we’re committed to providing a space for players and coaches to develop and grow.

Pay: between £40-70 per week (exact amount depends on our summer fundraising)

This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults at risk and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Background checks and DBS checks at the appropriate level will be obtained prior to employment commencing

Desired skills and experience

  • Minimum FA Level 1 or Introduction to Coaching Football

  • Prior experience working with children

  • Up-to-date first aid and safeguarding for all certificates

  • Ability to travel to training in East London for 2 hours a week, currently Thursday evenings from 8-10 pm

  • Ability to travel to games in London every second Saturday (possibly every Sunday, depending on ongoing league affiliation discussions which you will be a part of)

  • Ability and willingness to work with the W1T Coaching Staff to deliver a cohesive, consistent tactical philosophy, to support smooth movement between teams when possible

More about the team

  • CCFC's women’s team set up includes a Women's First Team (W1T) and the Women’s and Non-Binary Player’s Development Team (WDT). This role will be dedicated to coaching the WDT.

  • The WDT identity is in-progress. For the past three seasons (the first 3 in its existence), the team’s focus has been on developing players with a spread of ability, including some relative beginners. There is room for a committed coach to develop the identity and purpose of the team in relation to other teams in the womens set up.

  • You’ll have the support of a goalkeeper coach who works across both women’s teams during training.

  • Currently playing in the LWSFL Premiership

  • anti-fascist, anti-apartheid and LGBTQIA+ inclusive
