About us:
As Media and Communications Officer – Football Development, you will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with the Media & Communications Manager to develop and implement the media and communications strategy for football development.
- Build and maintain strong media relationships to increase coverage of OFC football development activities.
- Assist with the creation of content for oceaniafootball.com, as well as other print and online publications.
- Work closely with the Digital team to ensure the effective delivery of content across social media platforms, leveraging their full potential.
- Develop media operating processes and procedures to streamline football development activities.
- Support the development of a communications strategy for the Football division, in alignment with the broader OFC communications strategy.
- Provide training and capacity building for Member Association Media Officers, helping them effectively deliver content across platforms and achieve their strategic goals.
Core Competencies:
- Proven experience in media relations and communications, ideally within sports or football development.
- Strong understanding of social media and digital platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling content.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic outcomes.
- A passion for football and its role in community and development.
- Videography and photo editing skills
- A degree in Communications, Media, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years in media, communications, or public relations, ideally with experience in sports or football development.
- Eligible to work in New Zealand
- Current passport with the ability to travel within the Oceania region
