Job Description

Title:  Corporate Partnerships Intern
Department: Corporate Partnerships
Reports to:  Senior Director, Partnership Marketing & Senior Director, Corporate Sales
NOTES: Intern must be able to receive academic credit for this internship
Interns will have the opportunity to learn about the history, culture, and vision of Orlando City SC, understanding the importance of how a professional sports organization works (which could include sales, marketing, public relations, operations, or the internal working of the Club), to further develop general critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, communication, and writing skills.
Orlando City SC is seeking hardworking, positive and passionate individuals who wish to supplement their classroom instruction with practical experience facilitating assisting with corporate events, gameday, in-office support such as lead generation and prospecting, learning about asset tracking and inventory, understanding fulfillment and executing partnership contracts among others.
  • Review and comprehend Corporate Partnership contracts, analyze fulfillment needs and strategy 
  • Support  Partnership Marketing team on account management for all partner contractual obligations and communication 
  • Learn to track all partner assets and performance 
  • Collaborate with various internal departments and external vendors to plan and implement in-office/stadium events, game day promotions, digital/social platforms, in-market campaigns as well as partner recaps
  • Learn about internal and league initiatives by developing and creating a weekly newsletter reporting on all National, Local and Partner activation events as well as other league initiatives. 
  • Learn to prospect new corporate sponsorship/media partnerships for all Orlando City SC entities.
  • Learn how to develop unique and customized proposals and sales presentations for new business prospects
  • Actively research new ideas for new and existing partnerships
  • Understand the Corporate Sales strategies of deal structures, proposals, premium suite sales, fulfillment, rate card and more
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Support gameday activities by preparing gameday assets such as: LED, gate giveaways, Run of Show and Fan Zone partner activations among others
  • Support sales staff on game day with prospect and/or new partner communication where needed
  • Participate and learn to lead the Fan Zone pre game shift meeting and game day responsibilities
  • Learn to manage and organize Corporate Partnership gameday inventory
  • Professionally liaise between player(s) and/or partners during off-site player appearances and other corporate events
  • Develop plans to host youth clinics and camps at different locations, review assets to fulfill partner contractual obligations, which could include: managing registration, guest flow, equipment drop off and set up, and event breakdown
  • Assist with scheduling and communicating with Gameday Staff

To perform this internship successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of eligibility requirements, knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary:
  • Preferred 6 months to 1 year of experience with a sports team/organization, or a similar field, or major company
  • Knowledge and passion about soccer is preferred.
  • Photoshop experience is preferred but not required.
  • Preferred experience with on-site activation for sports partnerships, events/conferences and/or fan fests 
  • Have an understanding of partnership contracts, assets and execution 
  • Available to attend all Orlando City and Pride home games played at Exploria Stadium during the internship as well as other corporate events during the year
  • Strong ability to problem solve, maintain flexibility and open mindedness as well as multi-task
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, strong leadership skills and have a proactive attitude
  • Able to work non-traditional hours, in a non-traditional setting within a team atmosphere including weekends
  • This is a full time (30 hours) Monday through Friday internship with at a minimum of 15-20 hours a week and other weekend partner events 
  • Strong interest in soccer and sports is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Duration of internship depends on the applicant's ability to receive academic credit for this opportunity. 

This internship is intended to be an in-person learning opportunity, with the intern working a minimum of 20 hours in the facility per week, or as needed. Due to COVID 19, policies and procedures related to non-full-time employees working at our office at Exploria Stadium may dictate that the role becomes a telework opportunity.
