In order to produce the best experiences, we have an in-house private events team that works closely with our own culinary and food and beverage operation departments. Position Description
The Catering Sales Manager shall serve a vital role in developing the City Foods & Events offsite catering business. As a revenue generator focused on creating innovative solutions for next-generation City Foods & Events clients, this position is expected to develop and implement strategic sales plans, project sales and establish sales goals, and oversee marketing and event development programs that target new and existing business. 
The position is to be a key contributor to the Private Events team while ensuring all work is consistent with the Sporting KC brand purpose: “We create memories through personalized experiences with our Club.”

Essential Functions
  • Report to the Director, Private Events to effectively and strategically enhance City Foods & Events venue partners and client base.
  • Serve as a City Foods & Events revenue generator, focused on creating unparalleled experiences for clients.
  • Coordinate catered events with the culinary team.
  • Collaborate with culinary team on off-site menu development. 
  • Support on-site catered events at Children’s Mercy Park and/or Compass Mineral National Performance Center as needed. 
  • Meet and exceed yearly City Foods & Events sales targets set by the Leadership Team.
  • Network with local, regional and national organizations to acquire new clients and sales.
  • Maintain and continually grow the company’s prospective partner and client pipeline.
  • Develop portfolio of venue partners to grow City Foods and Events off-site catering business. 
  • Maintain and continually improve upon customer satisfaction.
  • Manage City Food's & Events Social Media Accounts
  • Foster customer loyalty and deliver a positive and memorable event experience through regular meetings with clients and potential clients.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to clients.
  • Create, track and maintain all proposals for prospective clients, detailing the progress of the sales process.
  • Prepare documents as needed, including expense reports, account budgets, memos, letters, contracts, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Mentor junior associates and seasonal interns.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
  • Support Sporting Kansas City’s mission, vision and purpose.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
  • This role does not have any direct reports. 
Match-day Responsibilities
  • Full-time associates act as representatives of Sporting Kansas City at all home matches, engaging with guests and working to create Magic Moments for all fans.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality management, marketing, or other related field required.
  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of catering sales experience. 
  • Capacity to adapt to the unique and vibrant Kansas City market.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write in the English language.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
