Job Description

Right to Dream Academy is seeking an academy physiotherapist to join our Department of Human Performance. Join our team and provide medical care at Africa’s leading football academy. In a global organization including academies in Egypt (Right to Dream) and Denmark (FC Nordsjælland), Right to Dream Ghana is where it all began. You will play an integral role in player development as part of our collaborative sports medicine team.

The selected candidate will operate across the continuum of injury risk reduction, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement. We are seeking a physiotherapist skilled in injury diagnosis, rehabilitation, and sideline management. The selected candidate will also have opportunities to assist with strength and conditioning and sport science initiatives.


  • Degree in Physiotherapy/Physical Therapy (minimum Bachelor’s; Master’s preferred)
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in a sport setting
  • Ability to work as a part of a team
  • Highly motivated and able to adapt
  • Ability to think on his/her feet in a challenging environment 


  • Background/experience in Strength & Conditioning and/or Sport Science
  • Work experience with youth athletes
  • Experience with data collection/research
  • Experience communicating with coaches and stakeholders


  • Lead physiotherapist for the U16 (Advanced) squad
    • Injury diagnosis/rehabilitation
    • Training/match coverage
    • Lead squad warmups and pitch-based fitness
    • Assist with carrying out strength and conditioning initiatives
    • Assist with sport science and data collection initiatives
    • Assist with carrying out training periodization initiatives
    • Assist with monitoring and reporting GPS data
    • Work in collaboration with other members of the medical department
  • General responsibilities of the sports medicine team
    • Assist with physiotherapist duties for other squads as needed
    • Provide skilled physiotherapy services to injured athletes
    • Implement and contribute to the student development plan
    • Assist in performance testing and ongoing data collection
    • Contribute to the physical performance aspects of the Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for your players
    • Understand and implement the organization’s Best Practice models for rehabilitation and physical performance
    • Documentation using the athlete monitoring system
    • Accompany academy students on medical trips as necessary
    • Assist with and provide guidance to pastoral staff for general first aid/medical needs with the students

 This position will ideally be appointed for a September 2022 start date.




  • This role is based full-time in Ghana. The academy is located near Atimpoku, approximately 90-120 minutes from the capital city, Accra.
  • The academy is fully residential, meaning that all students live on-site, as well as many staff members. The selected candidate will also live on-site.
  • The academy is comprised of two campuses: the “football side” including staff housing and the boys’ dorms, and the “school side” including staff housing and the girls’ dorms
