Sport Scientist

Steven Gerrard Academy have a number of sport scientist placement opportunities available.

The successful applicant will work closely with all teams at the academy. You will learn and develop within a fast pace, applied environment.

We have a number of locations with placement opportunities:

• SGA Liverpool 
• SGA Chester
• SGA Nottingham
• SGA Kirkby
• SGA Lancashire

Key Responsibilities

- Provide support to other departments within the academy when appropriate
- Deliver physical development sessions in line with player ILP’s
- Collaborate with coaches/sport scientists to develop and design training sessions
- Collaborate with medical staff to develop and deliver training sessions
- Produce supportive material to be used by coaches, players and other staff (reports, databases etc)
- Assist coaches on training and matchdays
- To utilise effective time management skills to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Maintain statistical databases and dashboards efficiently to ensure data is ready and available
- Help design and deliver recovery strategies to educate players/coaches
- Support and work with coaches at the college in adapting a multi-disciplinary approach
- Liase and communicate with coaches in preparation for gym and rehab/prehab sessions
- Monitor, use and store equipment and software appropriately
-Data collection, analysis and reporting on daily wellness, daily physical screening and on pitch training loading metrics

Essential

• Studying for a sport science related degree or recently graduated
• Willingness and motivation to learn

Desirable

• Full Clean Driving License
• FA Level 1 or above coaching badge
• Experience using video analysis software and GPS related technology
