Job Description

The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is a Division-I professional women's soccer league featuring the most prolific domestic and international players from around the globe. The twelve-team league consists of the Angel City Football Club (L.A.), Chicago Red Stars, Houston Dash, Kansas City Current, North Carolina Courage, Orlando Pride, Portland Thorns FC, OL Reign, Racing Louisville, San Diego Wave, NJ/NY Gotham FC, and the Washington Spirit.

The NWSL office is growing to meet the demands of the changing global landscape of professional women's soccer. We are looking for individuals who desire to make an impact on the future of sport in the United States.

Position Description

Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Manager, Operations assists with all matters related to the league's operations and competition as well as league event execution.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise in the execution of the league's match operations and security initiatives including match presentation as well as match and event security and accreditation
  • Support the development and implementation of recognized supporter group regulation and its application.
  • Compile the necessary information to ensure NWSL liability, automobile and workers compensation policies are accurate year-to-year
  • Help facilitate the development and enforcement of team compliance with the league's operations, competition and referee policies and procedures
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the clubs for all inquiries related to operations and competition
  • Manage elements of programming with the Professional Referee Organization (PRO) and processing of referee match reports
  • Process and track team, player, and coach discipline and fines
  • Advise clubs on the NWSL Kit Policies and ensure uniform selections are satisfactory to both our apparel partner and the clubs
  • Complete pre-season and in-season site visits and collect team submittals to ensure facilities and processes meet or exceed league standards
  • Manage the Professional Match Evaluator and Medical Observer programs
  • Monitor each teams' on-field environment to ensure product quality and compliance with league policies
  • Serve as the primary contact for the teams/referees for all competition, referee and event matters
  • Assist with the development and refinement of league's operations, competition and referee policies, procedures and documents
  • Assist in the execution of league events (NWSL Draft and NWSL Championship)
  • Manage the administration for the annual player satisfaction survey and the compilation of responses
  • Managing the inventory of League gear and distribution
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in sports administration
  • Ability to multi-task and execute without close supervision
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to maintain strong 'customer service' and follow-up with all team inquiries
  • Ability to deliver high quality work and execute under pressure/deadlines
  • Able and willing to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends and holidays

Pay Range: $55,000 - $60,000 annually

Work Location: This position is based in Chicago, IL; however, we are currently operating on a hybrid work model (mix of in-office and remote work).
