Job Description

The Houston Dynamo Football Club is seeking an individual for the position of Director Corporate Partnership Sales & Business Development.  The role will report directly to the Vice President of Corporate Partnerships.  The Partnership Sales professionals are responsible for identifying, developing and managing new Dynamo FC, Dash, PNC Stadium and Houston Sports Park sponsor prospects up to the point of contract completion.  

In this role, you will be responsible for generating new sponsorship revenue by thoughtfully and strategically producing corporate leads with minimum annual investment thresholds which align with each property in our portfolio.  As such, this individual will be required to build relationships with senior leadership and C-Suite executives in each prospective sponsor company, whereby decision makers are engaged in the process from start to finish.   

This role also requires a fundamental understanding of - and commitment to - teamwork, support and collaboration both within the department and across the various business and community relations disciplines within the enterprise.  Following preexisting processes and using the resources and tools provided to help drive success and account management will also be a fundamental requirement to this position.

You Will:
  • Prospect with frequency and purpose, primarily in alignment with assigned categories or verticals, unless deemed otherwise by your supervisor.  
  • Focus on marquee “landmark” assets in alignment with specific business objectives of each prospect. 
  • Close a predefined goal of new business revenue for the 2023 season(s), with adjusted increase expectations in new revenue beginning 2024.  
  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively with partnership marketing team members, as well as overall revenue team, to help drive and deliver successes.  
  • Work closely with Department VP and Chief Revenue Officer on helping to close deals.
  • Work closely with applicable internal resources across the enterprise through the opportunity ideation process to ensure deliverables and executables are all identified and signed off on prior to finalizing proposals and contracts.  Examples include Partnership Marketing, Stadium Ops, Digital & Social Media, Premium Seating & Hospitality, Community Relations, Broadcast, Finance, Legal, Houston Sports Park, other. 
  • Build, manage and maintain your “network” of business prospects as a strategic sales professional with a consultative approach to developing each opportunity.  
You Have:
  • A successful track record in sponsorship sales, particularly to high level executives and the C-suite within various brands.  
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with a proven history of performance and business development.
  • Record of sales results which consistently meet or exceed revenue and strategic goals.
  • High proficiency in relationship building, relationship management and networking skills.
  • Evidence of being a strategic, creative thinker with the ability to utilize processes and plans.
  • A background with high ethical standards.
  • A commitment to diversity and inclusion both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and present effectively using various media and methods.
  • English language proficiency is essential and Spanish/English bilingual skills are a bonus.
  • An outstanding work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and CRM systems, including SalesForce, is a plus.
  • Experience or familiarity with tools such as Sponsor United, Zoom Info, LinkedIn, DigiDeck and Scarborough is a plus. 
  • Prior sports and/or entertainment industry sponsorship sales experience is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
