Job Description

The Premier League is responsible for the delivery of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP), a long-term strategic plan for the development of Academy System with the goals of; 1) developing more and better Home Grown Players capable of playing at the highest level; and 2) ensuring positive development outcomes for all Academy Players, regardless of whether they become professionals or not.

To support the continued delivery of the EPPP, we are looking to recruit a Games Programme Executive to support the administration and management of the Games Programme Competitions in the Professional Development Phase (PDP) (U17-U23).

The role

The main duties will include but not be limited to:
  • Provide administrative and operational support in the organisation and delivery of the PDP Games Programme Competitions.
  • Provide administrative and operational support in the organisation and delivery of the newly formed National League Cup competition.
  • Support with the process of administering match confirmation forms and team sheet checks across the PDP Games Programme Competitions.
  • Support with coordinating Club meetings and pre-season planning sessions related to the above competitions, contributing where required.
  • Lead on the management of select domestic cup competitions across the PDP Games Programme.
  • Support with communicating fixture amendments across the PDP Games Programme.
  • Monitor Club compliance with competition rules, liaising with the Premier League’s Regulatory team to manage breaches of Competition rules where required.
  • Provide weekly updates through PDP bulletins and ensure effective distribution with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the scheduling of Finals presentations across all PDP competitions, working with the Clubs, trophy providers and external agencies for staging/branding.
  • Support the PDP with policies and procedures for all Regulatory matters.
  • Support the Senior Games Programme Manager (PDP) and Games Programme Manager (PDP) on matters relating to the Professional Development Phase.
  • Lead on the creation and distribution of the Games Programme Monthly Bulletin.
  • Support the management of the Games Programme Match Monitor process across the PDP Games Programme.
  • Support the allocation of Games Programme Consultants for PRS checks across the Foundation and Youth Development Phase.
  • Support with the wider Games Programme Team to deliver its strategic plan.
  • Actively commit to personal development, constructing a needs-led plan that supports individual progression.
  • An awareness and commitment of Safeguarding, including participating in relevant training.
  • On occasions, undertake other duties as necessary to meet the needs of the Premier League Youth Development Department.

Requirements for the role

  • Experience working with children and adults at risk and/or knowledge and understanding of issues that affect their safety and wellbeing
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Excellent planning, organisational and presentation skills
  • High proficiency in MS Office (esp. PowerPoint and Excel) 
  • Comfortable working in an agile way, and with change and uncertainty 
  • Willingness to learn new approaches and adapt to different working styles 
  • Team player with high emotional intelligence, who seeks and acts on feedback 
  • Proactive and uses own initiative; ability to work independently and meet deadlines
