To support our Data Protection Team, FIFA is looking to recruit a communicative and service focused person as a Legal Counsel, 100% (Permanent)
 

Your duties

  • Supporting the implementation of a global privacy strategy, performing data protection impact assessments, drafting, reviewing and negotiating data processing and data sharing agreements, and managing FIFA’s records of processing activities
  • Providing data privacy guidance to internal business partners to ensure that privacy is built, by design, into FIFA’s initiatives, events, services and processes
  • Providing data privacy advice to internal and external stakeholders with a view to finding solutions quickly to meet identified needs
  • Supporting contract negotiations as needed in order to review data privacy contractual provisions with partners and third-party suppliers, such as data processing agreements and data transfer agreements
  • Conducting and overseeing legal research
  • Interpreting and applying a risk-based assessment of how legal requirements affect new projects, products, events or initiatives
  • Keeping abreast of technological developments, changes in the law, enforcement trends and their impact on data privacy and cybersecurity in the world of football
  • Developing guidance, awareness and training as needed for internal and external audiences
  • Building and maintaining strong and trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Working effectively with cross-functional teams in on-site and remote locations, in an engaged, business-focused and pragmatic manner
  • Managing the consent collection in FIFA’s systems
  • Managing FIFA’s records of processing activities
     

Our requirements

  • Bachelor degree minimum requirement, master’s degree preferred and advanced relevant technical training and certifications
  • Certification by the International Association of Privacy Professionals
  • OneTrust Professional Certification
  • Five to seven years’ experience in a data privacy function within a major law firm or a multinational corporation
  • Strong substantive knowledge of EEA/US privacy and cybersecurity laws as well as working knowledge of international privacy and data protection laws
  • Experience and expertise with conducting data protection impact assessments
  • Prior role in providing data privacy legal guidance to internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in monitoring privacy trends and developments and translating those into actionable guidance or requirements
  • Experience in interacting with data subjects and data protection authorities
  • Fluent language skills in English, any additional languages are considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in the OneTrust Privacy Management Platform
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Outstanding communicator
  • Team player
