Job Description

 Title:  Marketing Coordinator 
Department:  Marketing & Communications

Summary: 
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for implementing the promotional and marketing campaigns for the organization at the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications. This position is also responsible for developing and managing relationships with media partners in radio, television, and outdoor platforms. 
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Assist with the creation of strategic plans for the effective marketing of all promotional nights, events, sponsorships, and community initiatives 
  • Creatively execute videos, graphics, and in-game promotions to fit client’s needs 
  • Diligently work to build relationships with local media stations to secure additional free promotion in the form of on-air interviews, liners, and online content 
  • Manage and update team website 
  • Assist in the creation and execution of social media activities 
  • Assist in the creation and deployment of digital content and articles to be distributed through team channels 
  • Lead external marketing communications, including but not limited to e-mail marketing campaigns 
  • Align the efforts of the marketing, advertising, and social media activities to the overall goals of the organization 
  • Implement new ideas and adapt best industry practices to improve atmosphere at Werner Park 
  • Network and build relationships in Omaha and the surrounding region 
  • Represent the organization at in-house ballpark events and off-site community events promoting the organization 
  • Work with the front office team to achieve the objectives of the advertising sales, marketing, tickets, and community relations departments 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Game Day Responsibilities: 
  • Create and distribute all match previews and match recaps in accordance with league rules including pre/post game reports to be sent to the team’s media list as well as posted on team website and app. 
  • Prepare and distribute Match Notes for each match and upload to league website 
  • Lead credentialing for media and staff 
  • Manage press box area for all media members, photographers, and videographers in attendance 
  • Coordinate media coverage of games, home and away 
  • Supervise game day photographers and ensure images at uploaded to USL 
  • Other duties may be assigned 
 
Knowledge and Skill Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Marketing, Marketing, Journalism, Communication, or related field preferred 
  • At least two years of prior marketing or communications experience preferred 
  • Past experience working with a sports organization preferred 
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment 
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Ability to solve problems quickly 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Good working knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Internet, and database programs 
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for organizational business 
  • Ability and willingness to work varied and long hours including nights, weekends and holidays 
 
Working Conditions: 
This job operates in an office environment located at a ballpark. This individual routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copiers.  During games and events, this individual may be exposed to extreme weather conditions.
