Job Description

The Director, Live Experience for St. Louis CITY SC will be the role responsible for bringing the club's in-game experiences to life. S/he will be a thoughtful and strategic steward of the team's identity in relation to our fans - while bringing foresight, innovation, and a constant desire to improve the club's deliverables at each opportunity. St. Louis CITY SC is defining a new spirit of St. Louis and this role will exemplify the very best in creativity and fan experience.



Major League Soccer's (MLS) first majority female-owned and female-lead organization will play its inaugural MLS season in 2023. The 100 percent St. Louis based owners are committed to becoming an exceptional club and neighbor and a symbol for the future of our city and region.

St. Louis CITY SC will play in a brand new, state of the art soccer stadium to be built on approximately 35 acres in downtown St. Louis, Missouri. Seating capacity of the open-air stadium will be 22,500. Included with the build of the stadium will be the team Administrative Offices and Training Facility immediately adjacent to the stadium in Downtown West St. Louis.



  • Oversee the development of a Live Experience strategic mission and calendar to align with defined business goals, priorities, and brand values.
  • Manage in-game presentation and live experience budget creation and tracking.
  • Support the planning, optimization, execution, and innovation of in-game matchday programming, including but not limited to pre-match planning, communication, and creative execution. This also includes oversight of: 
    • Development of match day scripting and run-of-show 
    • In-game content execution (graphics, videos, in stadium replays, and promotional scripting. 
    • Research presentation trends and keep up with best practices to produce a polished, best-in-class matchday experience. 
  • Leverage in-district technology to develop creative, fan-centric presentation and experience strategies that deliver value for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate in the development of experiential activations in line with team's brand marketing, partnership marketing, and community relations efforts.
  • Maintain effective communication regarding entertainment information with local and national broadcast directors for coverage purposes.
  • Recruit, lead, and mentor a team of part-time Live Experience, Broadcast, and Matchday Hospitality professionals.


Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of experiential and/or entertainment event production in a creative, fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years leading and developing teams to deliver high-visibility deliverables and activations.
  • Highly demonstrated experience in creating and executing entertainment plans and strategies.

  • Ability to coordinate and lead multiple tasks and projects while managing time effectively.

  • Strong professional communications and interpersonal skills when working with clients and internal groups to achieve organizational goals.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to measure the impact of all decisions to build strategic business plans.
  • Ability to work with a cross-functional team to meet deadlines and achieve successful outcomes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with specific emphasis on game-changing consumer experiences
  • A passion for fostering diverse, inclusive, and high performing teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50lbs.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
