Job Description

The Richmond Kickers Pro Soccer Club, an independent USL League One team
located in Richmond, VA, is accepting applications for an internship in Marketing/Community Engagement. This is a temporary internship for students seeking college credit that will run through the Spring 2022 semester and will report to the Senior Manager of Marketing and Branding.
Primary Duties
  • Represent the Richmond Kickers as a Brand Ambassador at events throughout the greater Richmond community including, but not limited to, mascot and player appearances, festivals, tournaments, partner appearances and Kickers home games
  • Set up, take down and transport various activation elements for community events
  • Engage current and potential new fans, creating rapport and building excitement about Kickers pro soccer
  • Assist in creating and executing grassroots marketing promotions
  • Proactively research community events and maintain a detailed calendar of events
  • Support the sales staff in creating a comprehensive data capture plan
  • Contact and book vendors for Kickers home games and festivals
  • Maintain professional appearance and represent the Richmond Kickers in a professional manner at all events
  • Assist with pro game day operations and special events
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must be a student seeking college credit
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly desired, but not required
  • Leadership and community involvement preferred
  • Have a knack for striking up conversations with strangers and a passion for talking about soccer and connecting in the community
  • Must have the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Can work in the elements
  • Access to reliable transportation required
  • Must have access to a computer and reliable internet connection for any out of office work
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs; design capability a plus
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently on a variety of time-sensitive projects
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to work well in a cross-functional team environment while maintaining a positive attitude
