We currently have a unique opportunity for a Copywriter to join the Brand & Creative team at the heart of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

We’re looking for a creative thinker with excellent writing and research skills to help us elevate our work
as our full-time, in-house Copywriter. You will write and edit copy for a variety of projects including print, web, mobile, video, and social media, working closely with the design, marketing and commercial teams to brainstorm ideas, create concepts, and develop messaging.

Reporting into the Head of Creative, you will be responsible for delivering authentic, vibrant and flexible tone of voice to reach a variety of audiences from sports and entertainment to retail and visitor attractions. You will work within the Brand & Creative team to driving consistency in the way we talk to our fans, our customers, our partners and our supporters, right across the Club.


Key Responsibilities


  • Create work which stands out in the sporting world
  • Continually raise the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action
  • Create processes that help non-writers easily access and implement accurate messaging
  • Research and understand the client's needs and target audiences, through online searches, reviews of existing research, interviews with subject matter experts, and in-person meetings
  • Work closely with the Brand and Creative team to drive TOV consistency
  • Excellent editing short- and longer-form copy
  • Provide technically precise input and support
  • Revise copy based on internal and client feedback/direction
  • Proofreading final assets, and maintaining style guides and evergreen content
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communication and client-related industry trends
  • Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging

Skills & Experience


  • Exceptional writing and research skills
  • Write original copy and edit content for a range of marketing and communications materials
  • Interpret creative briefs to develop and produce creative concepts through execution
  • A keen eye for detail and appreciation of great design
  • Comfortably vary voice, style, and other characteristics demanded by the industry, company, or target audience at hand
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or related discipline
  • 3+ years’ professional copywriting experience
  • A strong portfolio which showcases a diverse range of projects
  • Proven record of delivering and supporting for global brands
  • Experience with dynamic content in email campaigns
  • Writing for brand experience hugely beneficial
  • Proofreading experience and familiarity with multiple brand guidelines
  • Working within the sports or entertainment industry is desirable
