Job Summary

 

Founded in 1882 and based in North London, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has a tradition of playing an entertaining and attacking style of football. The English Premier League Club reached the final of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in its history in the 2018/2019 season, having already secured qualification for Europe’s elite competition for a fourth year in a row.

In April 2019, the Club opened a new 62,303-seat technologically advanced stadium that sits at the heart of a £1billion sport-led regeneration of North Tottenham. The stadium is the largest football club stadium in London and as a multi-use venue with the ability to host a variety of events 365 days a year, including NFL, rugby, concerts and other corporate and private events, is a key step towards catapulting the Club from a Football Club to a globally renown Sports and Entertainment brand. Within the stadium sits the Tottenham Experience – home to both Europe’s largest Club retail store and a range of visitor attractions, including the newly launched stadium rooftop adventure, Dare Skywalk.

We're looking for a creative leader who will champion the creative workflow across the entire business. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new creative team at the heart of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

You will be solely responsible for running and organising a top-class in-house brand and creative studio as well as working closely with creative agencies to push and evolve the visual direction of the brand to ensure it remains contemporary, relevant and differentiated within the sports and entertainment market.

Responding to commercial briefs and playing a key role in the end-to-end process, you will oversee the delivery of channel assets through a combination of internal and external resource, delivering assets that address the needs of specific marketing channels to maximise value delivered through those channels through a regular review and feedback loop will allow learnings to be captured and fed into future work.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • The ability to successfully manage the workflow of a busy creative department, efficiently and cost-effectively without compromising on quality
  • Maintain and evolve an effective end-to-end creative process from briefing to assigning a designer to sign-off with the stakeholder
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external partners to fulfil their creative and brand requests
  • Manage the Club’s agency and freelancer roster alongside the internal design team, to create a list of preferred suppliers that each have the required skillset and quality of work
  • Drive efficiencies in the use of these suppliers by negotiating preferential rate cards
  • Work with partners to deliver co-branded creative assets, ensuring they align with the Club’s brand guidelines
  • Ensure all corresponding brand guidelines, templates and supporting resources are fit for purpose, current, and are used in the correct way across the business and by partners
  • Oversee the delivery of creative assets for marketing, driving cost efficiency, quality, consistency and a timely process across the internal team and agency roster

  • You appreciate the importance that creative has in delivering a commercial goal, and so will encourage the creative team to find the balance between delivering something that is both visually and commercially strong
  • You’re a proactive self-starter with an ambitious spirit, able to work on multiple workstreams effectively and at pace
  • You value rigor and timely planning for your own work, and actively seek to embed these values in others

Skills & Experience

 

  • Outstanding leadership and project management skills
  • Well-organised logical, efficient and process-driven
  • Project management software experience – Knowledge of Trello a bonus
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, with the ability to build rapport and credibility across internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high standards of output – the ability to ensure accuracy whilst maintaining pace to ensure deadlines are met
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in a related Project or Studio Manager role
  • Proven record of successfully managing and delivering the mechanics of creative campaigns for a global brand
  • Proven experience of creative design project management
  • Successfully managed brand campaigns, across creative and marketing communications
  • Budget management
  • Working within the sports or entertainment industry is a nice to have, but not required
