Job Description

JOB TITLE: Production Manager - Location Shoots & Live
DEPARTMENT: Chelsea Creative Studios
REPORTING TO: Operations and Technology Lead
JOB FUNCTION:  Manage planning and delivery of content across our digital channels (App, Website & Social Media Channels), including live streams (Matches & Entertainment shows, and a variety of location shoots (Branded Content, Training & Match Days).
DIRECT REPORTS: Production Coordinator 
LOCATION: Stamford Bridge
CONTRACT: Permanent  
•       Manage and resource location shoots and projects with in-house and freelance teams. Confident managing shoots, planning, hiring and negotiating with freelancers and contractors.
•       Arrange and oversee documentation as necessary for film shoots and OB coverage – such H&S risk assessments, film permits, accreditations, liability insurance, travel arrangements, contributor release forms etc.
•       Liaise with the finance department on licensee billing and payments.
•       Internal point of contact for any location shoot operational & logistical enquiries and ensuring all shoots are planned accurately according to requirements.
•       Lead, plan and resource the production elements of Chelsea TV outside broadcasts and other filming including on match days.
•       Responsible for hiring and managing the freelance crew resource for our outside broadcast games and events, alongside the Coordinator.
•       Liaise with the FA, Premier League Match day coverage and manage the schedules for our outside productions, including Academy and Ladies` matches and live shows.
•       Arrange satellite feeds, downlinks and on-passes for any other live games shown on the platforms alongside the Coordinator.
•       Forecast and budget for OBs across all categories, reconciling invoices with accounts and managing all additional kit and freelancer bookings (cameras / editors / producers etc.)
•       Consistent contribution to live event planning schedule and location shoot planning.
•       Ensure all content production shoots & live game coverage plans are planned and delivered smoothly and within budget.
•       Manage cost estimation and monitor spend accurately providing support to the Senior Production Manager.
•       Project requirements, deliverables and deadlines tracked, monitored and communicated effectively.  Issues/risks/delays identified and communicated accordingly to the required teams. 
•       An efficient and well organised way of working- supporting Chelsea TV’s editorial and creative demands and managing all technical requirements with a creative and innovative approach. 
•       Organised way of working across all areas in the department.  
•       Value for Money productions and resourcing in place across the teams, with opportunities for collaboration/sharing of resources. 
•       At least 4-5 years’ experience in live content production and coordinating with an ability to work as part of a team but also to work independently when required.
•       Thorough understanding of production, editorial and technical processes involved in the making of a range of programs across content creation, sports industry and branded content is required. 
•       Solid experience in on-site production of live sports broadcast, understanding of OB Facilities and studio shows requirements.
•       Experience in scoping, budgets and cost tracking.
•       Experience of managing crews, creating call sheets, risk assessments.
•       Experience and understanding of line booking, satellite and OB broadcasting equipment facilities and feeds.
•       The ability to remain a calm, reassuring presence in pressurised situations and be flexible. Adaptable to the demands of challenging and unusual projects.
•       A positive attitude, solution focused mentality; eager to manage project span, different formats and deliveries e.g. digital assets including social platforms deliverables, short form branded content, editorial content and event coverage.
•       Demonstrable experience and skill at managing multiple creative projects and timings concurrently.
•       A natural problem solver - ability to think clearly and calmly when faced with issues or under pressure and be diplomatic
•       Creative and innovative approach to finding technical and cost-effective solutions.
