Reports to: CEO

Location: Offices based in Brixton, London with flexibility for working remotely – programme visits in South London and Quintana Roo, Mexico

Description: Girls United are looking for a Global Marketing Manager to match the fast-paced growth of the organisation, leading the marketing department, executing strategies to build brand visibility, developing partnerships and driving the growth of engagement with beneficiaries. The role requires overseeing the marketing strategies across both Mexico and the UK, working with on-the-ground teams in both locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Story Telling: Creating content that captures the impact of our work with the aim of growing programme reach, increasing engagement with stakeholders and promoting gender equality in the wider community.

• Strategic management of social media platforms and website content
• Creation of audio-visual content: from identifying stories and content capture to editing videos & photos
• Communicating with our beneficiaries to portray a genuine representation of our impact

Brand Building: Developing our international presence through PR activities and partnership building.

• Developing corporate partnerships and management of the Professional Ambassador programme
• Creating media and press opportunities  
• Engaging our community of donors, partners and supporters with events, digital campaigns and reports

Marketing and communication of programmes: Creation and execution of Girls United programme growth strategy. • Managing promotion and recruitment of coaches and players

• Overseeing the communications and customer service with beneficiaries
• Digital marketing and graphic design of marketing material 

Managerial responsibilities: Overseeing a team of marketing assistants, social media officers and interns

• Responsible for setting Key Performance Indicators, growth strategies and evaluating progress  
• Responsible for management of marketing budget

Qualities and Qualifications – Essential (E) / Desirable (D)

• Minimum of 3 years in marketing, communications and/or PR roles (E) •
Experience working in social impact and/or not-for-profit sector (D)
• Experience working in football, professional and/or community sports (D)

Hard Skills:
• Graphic design capabilities at an intermediate level – Adobe Photoshop, Premier Pro, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, After Effects (D)
• Able to use communication and project management platforms – Trello, Slack, Mailchimp, G-Suite (E)
• Knowledge of Spanish (D)

• Organisational skills: Proactive individual capable of working independently, managing fast-paced projects, working to deadlines and competent in juggling a broad range of work streams whilst maintaining attention to detail.
• Communications skills: Ability to build content and deliver messaging that is purposeful and engaging; comfortable writing copy, press releases and designing interviews; and able to communicate with a range of stakeholders from beneficiaries to corporate partners.
