Job Description

D.C. United are looking for a Manager of Video Content to help tell the story of the club across our owned digital and social platforms and elevate our club’s brand at a local and global level. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of dynamic storytelling and video production including producing, shooting, editing, and motion graphics design. D.C. United are looking for someone with a passion and understanding of soccer and the willingness to commit time and energy to further our connection with our fanbase as well as the know-how and creativity to attract new supporters and interest in the club. The role will fit within the Communications and Content department and require collaboration across the entire front office as well as interact with members of the D.C. United first team from the technical staff to the players.

What You Will Do
  • Ideate, produce, shoot, and edit creative and engaging video content
  • Film matchdays and produce real-time content for use on social and digital properties
  • Film and edit training content
  • Film and produce dynamic content that tells the stories of individual player, technical staff, fan, and more
  • Work with social media manager to create relevant, short-form content
  • Work with our Brand Engagement team to seamlessly integrate club partners into creative, authentic content
  • Lead larger offseason campaign projects such as season campaigns and kit releases
  • Oversee logging and archival processes
  • Travel with the first team to select matches to document life on the road and capture matchday content as detailed above
  • Manage freelance and contract videographers on as needed basis
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Background, Skills, and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience creating various types of media for distribution across owned digital and social properties
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects, as well as Photoshop and the full Adobe Creative Suite
  • Highly experienced capturing content and shooting with HD professional video equipment
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of video formats, codecs, and transcoding
  • Understanding and ability to produce motion graphics and animation is a strong preference
  • Adept at motion graphic design, design conventions, and post-production process
  • Deep knowledge base of all social platforms, trends, new technology, and sport and pop culture
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in sports preferred, but not required
  • Fluent in Spanish (including the ability to write and translate) is preferred, but not required
  • Must be able and willing to travel as needed
  • Must be able and willing to accept a flexible work schedule, which will include working and traveling on weekends

  • Must have a strong command of reasoned, measured decision-making based upon analyzing the pros and cons of each potential decision to be made
