Job Title: Digital & Creative Services Manager 
Reports To: V.P. of Marketing & Communications
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
 
On February 1, 2021, the United Soccer League (USL) announced Monterey Bay Football Club (MBFC) joined USL Championship for the 2022 season. With the announcement, the expansion Club becomes the second addition to the league for the 2022 season and will be the highest level of professional soccer on the Monterey Peninsula.

SUMMARY: 
Keeper of the MBFC Brand – both in the creation of design content for the Club and ensuring brand standards are upheld with internal and external audiences.  
 
MINIMUM POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Recognize Brand Guidelines and implement these standards throughout all creative, including use by partners.
  • Conceptualize, design, and produce creative content for use on website, social media outlets, and electronic correspondence, through video and graphic design.
  • Lead the social media engagement for MBFC social profiles including posts, strategy, integration with other platforms and consistency in voice and brand for various audiences.
  • Create ads, including digital, print, and outdoor, for external usage that market events and support department branding.
  • Support the art direction and execution of marketing and sales campaigns.
  • Design season tickets and associated items in alignment with season collateral concept.
  • Support event management functions by providing templates for credentials, parking passes, and event staff guides.
  • Create and edit digital templates and images for group ticket sales and database group marketing for email or website distribution.
  • Create and edit partnership pitch decks as needed with Partnerships department.
  • Handle multiple, high priority projects with attention to detail, including communication with vendors and internal stakeholders on expectations, to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to shoot and edit photos and video as needed.
  • Maintain and organize database of all photo and video files.
 
MATCHDAY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Oversee matchday photographers, providing shot lists and ensuring we meet league photo requirements, and upload images to USL photo platforms.
  • Provide real-time videoboard assets at every MBFC home match day.
  • Provide real-time match day graphics for social media platforms.
  • Assist Content Captain on video highlights and similar social media graphics or video
  
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related work experience equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of graphic design experience within the sports industry; portfolio of work required.
  • Knowledge or experience of sports marketing, entertainment business, event development or destination marketing preferred.
  • Exceptional design and branding skills.
  • Knowledge of current and new technologies to assist in offering design and graphic direction as well as knowledge of procurement, copyright and other relevant business policies and procedures.
  • 2-3 years of print production experience in process and file preparation.
  • Experience in all aspects of design including print, digital, website, video and select animation.
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Flash), Video editing using Adobe Premiere and animation using After Effects.
  • 2-3 years of experience in digital file preparation for social media, website, and video systems.
  • Able to fully manage multiple projects from start to finish.
  • Fundamental knowledge of photography.
  • Strong verbal and written presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism, and able to integrate it into projects.
