Title: Safe Places to Play Associate I



  • Manage 25-30 mini-pitch projects each year, which include site selection, communication with key stakeholders, budget analysis, grant agreement process, and partner/funder/vendor management.
  • Support the administration of field-building initiatives with corporate partners and individual donors. Duties include project management, communication, account management, event organization, and pursuit of future field-building opportunities.
  • Coordinate the Safe Places to Play Customer Relationship Management platform, including monitoring all mini-pitch project records, creating all reports, training other Safe Places to Play team members on usage, and continuously ensuring updates and improvements are made to make our work more impactful and efficient.
  • Interface with Safe Places to Play grantees, municipalities, youth soccer clubs, Soccer for Success partners, and community leaders for project identification, and develop and maintain a database of potential project sites for future projects.
  • Assist with the Safe Places to Play program’s data collection and measurement efforts, tracking key metrics around use and positive impact of mini-pitch projects nationwide.
  • Support the Foundation’s Marketing & Communications team in preparation for mini-pitch opening events, including organization of partners participating in an event, Run-of-Show creation, as well as follow up publicity needs via photo/video, etc.
  • Coordinate with corporate partners on material orders, project forecasts, funding/partnership compliance and general account management
  • Expectation of 15% travel associated with job responsibilities, including potential weekend travel.



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required with at least 1 year of experience in project management and/or sports-based youth development.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to maximize work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong research and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Management experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management platforms, Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of and/or interest in soccer is a plus.
  • Experience working with youth in underserved communities is a plus.
  • Background in general/field construction or built environment is a plus.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • Position is located in Washington, DC, though currently Foundation team members are working remotely.
