Job Description

Barnes Football Club was founded in 1862 and is the 6th oldest club in England. New management committee is now re-establishing the club and intends to involve local passionate football fans and enthusiasts to support their initiative. Our mission is to develop and promote community participation in healthy recreation by providing affordable activities that improve health and social welfare and to provide more social inclusive community that will engage all members regardless of ability or disability, race, religion, gender, age or sexual orientation.

What are requirements for the role?

  • Preferred SW13 based or surrounding areas (Richmond, Wandsworth, Hammersmith & Fulham boroughs)
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or similar)
  • This role requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Criminal Records Check (CRC)
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and trust
  • Excellent IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Remote and flexible working

What are the  main responsibilities?

  • Support the committee board with the production of effective budgets and continual review alongside actual financial performance.
  • Manage finances so that spend can be easily tracked in line with the company annual budget
  • Control and oversee the payroll.
  • Effectively manage short- and medium-term cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with external regulatory agencies such as HMRC, accountants and/or auditors.
  • Work with Treasurer for gathering the right data from the bank account
  • Ensure all internal controls required to operate a sound financial and management accounting system are in place.
  • Ensure employee and volunteer expenses are correctly managed.
  • Ensure statutory accounts are filed with Companies House on a timely manner

The role is on a voluntary basis with average 8-10 hours per week,  however we offer a range of benefits from our sponsors and great access to the sport network.
