Job Description Summary
The Sporting Kansas City Account Coordinator, Partnership Marketing shall be responsible for the day-to-day activation of an allocated partnership portfolio within the Corporate Partnership department at Sporting Kansas City and its parent company Sporting Club.  The Account Coordinator, Partnership Marketing will oversee the execution of assigned account assets at the highest level of customer service and satisfaction as well as collection of contractually obligated revenue per account.

The position is to be a key contributor to the Corporate Partnerships team while ensuring all work is consistent with the Sporting KC brand purpose: “We create memories through personalized experiences with our Club.”

Essential Functions
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Sporting Club and assigned partnership portfolio to build and maintain a positive relationship between both parties.
  • Implement, activate and track all assigned partner assets to ensure all contractual obligations are being fulfilled.
  • Retain and generate revenue for Sporting Club with current clients either through organic upsell or renewal process.
  • Responsible for renewing each applicable account and generating incremental organic revenue within the current partnership portfolio.
  • Create, track, and maintain all recaps and case studies for assigned clients detailing the process and success of their partnership program and assets.
  • Maintain accurate reporting process, through SportsLine and Trak resource systems, ensuring database management is aligned both internally and externally.
  • Plan and execute partner events as assigned which may include pre-game receptions, clinics, tours, in-game promotions, player appearances, community programs, etc.
  • Responsible for educating, as well as collecting measurement data internally and externally from partners, agencies and MLS counterparts, if applicable, on a regular basis.
  • Conduct consistent touchpoints with each client to develop long-term relationships and continually find creative solutions that go above and beyond the contract to enhance the partnership experience.
  • Support Sporting Kansas City’s mission, vision and values of excellence, competence, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Match Day Responsibilities
  • Full-time associates act as representatives of Sporting Kansas City at all home matches, engaging with guests and working to create Magic Moments for all fans.
  • Provide the Partnership Marketing Team with Match Day Guide.
  • Meet with clients to help set up spaces.
  • Conduct pre-game walk thru of the suites, concourse, and club spaces to ensure activation.
  • Taking photos of activations to provide as proof of performance.
  • Plan and execute halftime contests, as applicable.
  • Gather notes and provide a recap of the game.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Administration, Business, Marketing or other related field required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of activation and/or relationship management experience, preferably in the sports industry or agency setting.
  • Desire and ability to seek and secure incremental revenue opportunities with current clients.
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, proofreading skills, with a strong ability to communicate ideas both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated strong teamwork aptitude and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, Google Slides, Adobe, KORE/Salesforce, Trak, and SportsDigita.
  • Capacity to adapt to the unique and vibrant Kansas City market.
  • Spanish language fluency a plus, but not required.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write in the English language to effectively engage with fans, clients, business partners, and other Sporting Kansas City Associates.
