Job Description

Seven League is looking for a Technical Marketing Consultant to work with its sports clients, who range across some of the biggest leagues, clubs, federations and platforms in the world.

The right candidate will have practical experience of planning and running digital marketing campaigns on modern multi-channel marketing engagement platforms covering automated email workflows and logic-based website and app personalisation.


This role presents an opportunity to develop wider consulting skills. Seven League has great strength already in the development of all aspects of digital strategies for clients – from technology to content to social media to commercial – this role offers exposure to all of the above and the opportunity to progress skills and experience in those areas.


- Working with clients daily, which may involve being embedded with a client on behalf of Seven League, effectively creating the opportunity to work inside a major sports organisation.

- Presenting ideas, campaigns and strategies to clients of all levels

- Creation of digital strategies based on solid analysis that transform sports organisations

- The creation of personalised digital marketing campaigns including planning, asset design briefing, logic-rule creation, campaign delivery and analysis

- Determining and clarifying strategic and operational problems via consultation (e.g., running interviews and workshops)

- Analysing and interpreting research and stats to detect trends and create strategic and operational recommendations

- Identification of revenue growth, customer acquisition and retention opportunities and delivery of relevant recommendations

- Resource planning, project management and milestone tracking

- Writing reports

- Understanding the latest digital trends, and reporting this back to the wider team and clients

- Working with all other personnel to develop and achieve the company’s overall strategic goals

- Contributing to business development of new and existing clients

- Being an ambassador for Seven League and the Mailman group, as well as IMG, and always maintaining a professional approach


The right individual for this role will have a broad range of skills and will be looking for a varied role in which they will be challenged and grow rapidly by rising to those challenges. This individual will be a motivated self-starter with a high work rate and a thirst for knowledge.



  • Extensive experience in a digital marketing role, at a company that uses omnichannel MarTech to optimise fan or consumer conversions,   engagement, and satisfaction

  • A focus on automation technology for email, web and app personalization

  • A keen understanding of digital marketing   technologies and crucially, the ability to communicate the rationale and   outputs of those tools to non-technical people

  • Technically proficient – developer skills are not required, but the ability to talk coherently with sysadmins and   developers about their work is important

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. That means being able to parse the 2% of insight signals from the 98%   of noise in the data

  • The ability to direct a client with clarity

  • Experience of campaign planning, execution and analysis

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office, in particular, data manipulation in Excel and creating PowerPoint presentations



  • Experience using platform-native analytics (Google, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter)

  • Understanding of marketing: research, campaign planning, audience segmentation, profiling and content targeting

  • Understanding of the techniques of SEO and SEM

  • Experience  working in other markets specifically within Europe


Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal including strong presentation skills

  • Excellent client-facing skills or experience of working with a wide range of senior stakeholders within an organisation

  • Organised and an ability to meet fixed deadlines

  • Comfortable under pressure (presenting, running workshops, giving clients feedback etc.)

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage budgets and meet deadlines

  • Demonstrable ability to learn new skills with a readiness to share those skills among other members of the team
