Role Description:

  • Deliver a world class physical performance, nutrition and coaching service to England Women to enable the development of world leading physical capability for the England Women's Senior team.
  • To contribute to the England Women's Blueprint for Success which aims to inspire the development of players and teams who are physically durable and ready to physically dominate international football.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead a women's football specific ‘game changing' physical performance service to the England Senior Women's team.
  • Development of a detailed strategy and physical development plan for the Senior Women's team that integrates and influences the overall strategy for the Women's Seniors.
  • Create a bridge between data and football. Drive and interpret data towards women's football specific questions.
  • Foster close working relationships with Women's Senior national coaches and support staff that delivers a cohesive multidisciplinary approach at all times.
  • Delivery of physical performance and nutrition planning, coaching and review to the Senior Women's team while providing reference and assistance to other England teams within the system.
  • Cultivate close working relationships with peers in professional clubs to enable knowledge of and management of international players.
  • Assist the England Women Physical Pathway Lead in the development of an overall strategy for physical performance and nutrition which encompasses best practice in all aspects of physical preparation, recovery and player management specific for women's international football.
  • Assist in the leadership and delivery of key internal and external research projects which underpin future service development.
  • Develop and maintain an extensive network of organisations and individuals outside football with whom to share and develop best practice.
  • Execute additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.

 

What we are looking for:

Essential:

  • A qualification at degree level (or equivalent) in sports science or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in front line delivery of physical performance coaching at senior level in elite football.
  • Experience in implementation and influence of strategic planning within football.
  • Outstanding academic and applied knowledge contemporary practice in physical performance development.
  • Track record of successfully integrating into established and developing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Evidence of delivering change programmes in elite sport.

 Desirable:

  • Master's degree or higher in sports science or related discipline.
  • A football coaching qualification
  • Experience in football
  • Experience in international sport.
  • Experience in Women's elite level sport
