Job Description

The Purpose:       

The main purpose of the role is to drive incremental and relevant traffic into the Venue Ticketing e-commerce funnel through email marketing.  This is a specialist email marketing role to optimise fan segmentation, content, and campaign to increase key metrics ( open rates, click-throughs, conversion & sales) whilst building our marketable database and minimising unsubscribes.


The Role:

  • To work closely with the Venue Commercial and Media Marketing teams to identify our target email audience and to  grow the venue’s marketable database.
  • To design and implement direct email marketing campaigns. This includes but is not limited to developing copy and subject lines, designing email templates, building email lists, e.t.c
  • To ensure mobile-friendly email templates, proofreading for clarity, grammar, and spelling.
  • To ensure prompt and accurate communication with fans via email to minimise unsubscribes.
  • To take ownership of email marketing strategy for venue, driving customer acquisition, retention, and reactivation.
  • To continuously look for ways to automate, optimise and improve efficiency across responsibilities.


The Person:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading, planning and delivering of email marketing campaigns and continuous optimisation of performance, preferably within a membership, E-commerce or Ticketing business.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Excellent knowledge of email marketing with a target driven approach.
  • A strong understanding of tools and techniques used in marketing and audience planning.
  • Ability to lead and analyse performance, using data, insights, and analytics to identify opportunities and anticipate any issues that lead to lack of performance.
  • A strong understanding of attribution modelling across the full marketing funnel.
  • Excellent budgetary skills demonstrating efficiency of spend and effectiveness.
  • Ability to write a strong creative brief and effectively critique creative output.
  • Ability to design and implement direct email marketing campaigns. This includes (but is not limited to) developing copy and subject lines, designing email templates, building email lists e.t.c
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to  lead campaigns.
  • Experience working with Content / Editorial, CRM, SEO and Analytics teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders across a fast moving, multi-faceted organisation.
  • Expertise in performance monitoring, tracking and budget management.
  • An innovative thinker who is able to work flexibly and adapt to changing business priorities.
  • Experience of the Sport industry - desirable
