2021 Switchback FC Internship
Location: Weidner Field, 111 W. Cimarron St., Colorado Springs, CO 80903
Dates: Feb 15 – Nov 15
Number of Internships Available: 4
Number of Hours: 25-30 per week, Game Days will be mandatory work events
Supervisor for Internship: Kristen Washburn, Director of Team Operations
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • On the field: Work with technical staff and players throughout training day. The training day will
usually run from 8 AM – 12 PM. Assist with field set up and break down of equipment. Gather
training balls throughout each drill. The objective is to ensure a smooth training session i.e. smooth transition between drills and each coach has the correct equipment for drills. There will be times when multiple drills happen simultaneously so be proactive in asking the technical staff what is needed. Always have your head on a swivel on the field.
  • Equipment/training gear/locker room: Work closely with Equipment/Kit Manager to set up locker room with training gear every morning and uniforms on game days. Work with Equipment/Kit Manager to pack travel bags and arrange travel gear (field bag, uniform bag, boot bag) prior to the team departing for travel. Ensure accurate inventory of training equipment every morning before training and post training (cones, balls, disks, pennies) Ensure balls are pumped (12.5 PSI.) Wash and dry the training gear (including pennies) and game gear.
  • Operations: Work closely with Director of Team Operations to assist with travel itinerary
planning/travel logistics which include lodging, transportation, and meals . Help maintain player files for current season. Assist in planning game day operations for team. Will act as player liaison which will include (but not limited to) taking players to physicals, grocery store, cell phone store and to/from airport. If a trip to DEN airport is required, gas will be reimbursed.
