At OneFootball we are delivering the product experience for all football fans and the platform for our partners and internal users. Our application backend aims to be client-agnostic and scalable to 100's of millions of B2C users. It uses "Backend for Frontends" and a server driven UI, running on AWS and K8s to bring a personalized experience to all users on any device and application. 

We believe that great, agile software engineering requires creativity in solving problems for our users, a scalable architecture, great coding as well as open-minded communication.

We are looking for an engineering manager as part of the cross-functional experience architecture team.

YOUR ROLE

  • You are accountable for the people and delivery management.
  • You are responsible for coaching, mentoring, career development and for creating a safe, open and outcome driven environment.
  • You are accountable that the team delivers along the objectives and key results: the capabilities of the server driven UI with our golang backend and Swift/Kotlin rendering layers (as-a-service), support of the migration and product innovations in all other B2C product teams and fostering knowledge sharing (facilitating), contributions to other cross-team related engineering topics, like CI/CD.
  • You make sure that there is a flow of value delivery to our customers and the team is not blocked.
  • With the product manager and data engineering you identify the capabilities needed to build the next innovative solutions for our customers and you make sure that the solutions are understood and actionable by other teams.

YOUR PROFILE

  • 10+ yrs experience in software engineering including 1+ yr experience as a manager; you have had senior level experience in at least one relevant technology area (backend or native mobile).
  • You enjoy people management and you like to provide / receive feedback, manage performance, support career development, setting boundaries and goals for the team and the team members.
  • You have successfully managed architectural and process change in a team and within a department before.
  • You have a broad understanding of software engineering principles and technologies.
  • You care about engineering quality and know how it can be achieved.
  • You feel an urge to deliver value to our customers as much as you enjoy supporting other teams and you have a strong understanding of agile principles.
  • You feel comfortable building a strong team in a hybrid or full remote environment.
