Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced candidate to join the Commercial Team at Norwich City Football Club in the role of Head of Sales and Acquisition. The role will be responsible for implementing and developing a strategic sales plan across the entirety of Norwich City Football Club and the Carrow Road Stadium venue, in collaboration with the Commercial Director, to ensure commercial revenue targets are hit.

The successful candidate will have high levels of personal and professional integrity, with excellent leadership skills and a personable approach.  As well as demonstrating B2B sales experience with a proven track record of in achieving sales targets, the ideal candidate will also have experience holding a senior sales position within a management capacity, preferably within football or sporting contexts.

Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Marketing to lead a newly formed Sales Committee to develop a strategy on club-wide sales.
  • Responsibility for sales across the Club including but not limited to Partnership Acquisition, Hospitality and Special Events, Matchday Experiences and Memberships.
  • To work alongside the Commercial Director on Principal Partner acquisition (front of shirt, sleeve partnerships).
  • To deliver a robust Partnership acquisition process, selling primary partnerships to expand the Partnership portfolio.
  • To work with the Commercial Director and Head of Conference, Meetings and Events to build and deliver a venue strategy to elevate Carrow Road as the premium venue in the East of England, resulting in increased sales and profitability across all venue revenue streams (both existing and planned).
  • Work with the Commercial Director in creating new commercial opportunities and offerings, developing a strategy to innovatively market and sell said opportunities.
  • Development of key sales processes and best practices across the Club.
  • Effectively line manage immediate teams in a personable and engaging way, with a passionate and experienced approach in individual and team development.
  • Utilising a data-led approach, alongside the Club’s newly revamped data team, to actively foster new revenue-generating opportunities.
