JOB TITLE: App Intern
DEPARTMENT: Communications
REPORTING TO: Senior App Editor
JOB FUNCTION: An App publishing role working into Senior App Editor to provide editorial and wider publishing support for the official Chelsea app, The 5th Stand. 
LOCATION: Stamford Bridge
CONTRACT: Fixed-term, one year. 
•       Assist and support the Senior App Editor in managing the day to day publishing output on The 5th Stand app.
•       Provide engaging, informative and exciting editorial copy for use on the app, including features, news articles and player interviews.
•       Work matchdays where required, assisting with the app’s coverage of Chelsea matches which can include live text commentary via our match centre, producing polls and graphics and creating pre and post-match articles.
•       Produce a daily ‘Media Watch’ segment to be used across web and app.
•       Play a key role in creating and publishing short-form specific content, that can sit natively on the app.
•       Ensure our content reaches our global fan base, through the use of push notifications and strategic in-app messaging.
•       Work with Chelsea TV editors to ensure relevant long and short-form video content is produced for the app. 
•       Help with the management and publishing plan for the app, including Women’s content.
•       Ensure content can be used across other Chelsea FC digital platforms and are suitable for a global audience.
•       Delivery against Club targets for the App
•       Effective and timely publishing support for the Senior App Editor
•       Effective communication with teammates and other teams.
•       Proactivity of approach including ideation and iteration of content.
•       Degree-level education. Degree within communications or media preferable. 
•       Previous experience of sports publishing including written/editorial work and content ideation
•       Knowledge of and interest in football and football content
•       Good written and verbal communication skills as well as editorial judgement
•       An understanding of the role that apps play in sports fan engagement
•       Able to demonstrate a passion, curiosity and fluency in digital media
•       A keen interest in cultural trends and an eye for what’s coming next
•       Must be comfortable with out-of-hours work and working reactively to tight deadlines
•       A team player with confidence in communicating and interacting with colleagues
•       Can think quickly and be decisive in high pressure situations
•       Very strong attention to detail

The Employee must act to protect all young people and vulnerable adults that are in their care or attending the Company's premises. The Employee must report any misconduct or suspected misconduct to the Safeguarding Lead.
