About the Role:

The Vice President will provide direction and leadership for the Foundation’s national corporate and institutional fundraising efforts. This organizational leader will be responsible for generating new business revenue from local, regional and national companies, foundations, and other institutions by building multi-faceted, multi-year partnerships to facilitate the Foundation’s strategic growth, with a special focus on its flagship programs Soccer for Success and Safe Places to Play. This individual is responsible for the management of a portfolio of several high-level existing partnerships, the development of new revenue opportunities, and creating value add and mutually beneficial market activation opportunities.  This individual is a team player who builds strong cross-department collaboration to ensure mission-driven support and effective stewardship of funders and partners.


About the Team:

At the U.S. Soccer Foundation, the Revenue department supports the mission and vision of the organization through the engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, corporate partners, public agencies, and foundations. The department oversees the entire revenue enterprise, unifying all elements of the fundraising operations, driving innovation and outreach across multiple channels, maximizing impact, and achieving significant, sustained revenue growth.



  • Provide leadership, strategy, and direction for all corporate and institutional fundraising activities.
  • Lead Corporate and Institutional Partnerships team.
  • Create and implement corporate and institutional strategy and implementation.
  • Create and maintain relationships with key corporate representatives at Fortune 500 companies, preeminent foundations, and public agencies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and align strategy, as needed to maintain relevancy.
  • Represent the U.S. Soccer Foundation as a member of the Leadership Team at public, private, and corporate events.
  • Lead and direct all phases of the business development cycle, including business development meetings, strategy development, presentation and proposal design, letters of agreement, budgets, and contract negotiations.
  • Work closely with other Foundation department heads and team members on funding opportunities and related programs, including design and proposal development.
  • Work closely with others to ensure contractual fulfillment.
  • Manage expense budgets related to the implementation and execution of corporate and institutional partnerships.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports showing pipeline development and revenue projections.
  • Develop and implement new and creative strategies to identify, engage, pursue and secure new partners, with a primary focus on national partnerships to support strategic growth plan.
  • Oversee the creation and cultivation of a portfolio of prospective corporate partners through research, networking, email campaigns, cold-calls, and by maximizing relationships with current partners.
  • Prepare top-notch materials and pitches that can be delivered virtually or in-person to develop new relationships.
  • Support and advance the goals, mission, and culture of the U.S. Soccer Foundation.
  • Other duties, as assigned, by Chief Revenue Officer.


About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience, at least 3 years of leadership experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in direct revenue generation, fundraising, or sales. Experience in both non-profit and corporate environments a plus.
  • Demonstrated track record prospecting, securing and managing new partnerships, and successfully negotiating agreements with global brands and national foundations that generate annual funding in the six and seven-figure range.
  • Self-motivated team player with a proven ability to manage and attain aggressive individual and team sales goals.
  • Possess superior negotiation skills coupled with a net profit bottom-line mentality.
  • Exceptional and persuasive written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface with senior-level executives with tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a creative and resourceful problem solver; able to balance the tension between partner expectations and organizational capabilities, strategies, and results.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Advanced computer skills (Salesforce preferred) and expertise in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, design, and deliver high-quality fundraising collateral.
  • Passion for the vision and mission of the U.S. Soccer Foundation.  A strong interest in sports-based youth development is a plus.
  • Commitment to high ethical standards.
  • The ability to travel frequently on behalf of the U.S. Soccer Foundation.
  • Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
