Job Description


The Talent Acquisition Advisor is a specialist role supporting all aspects of talent attraction & acquisition across all business areas both UK & Internationally. It is part of a HR Operations team of 11 people (inclusive of this role) and a wider HR team of 24.

The role is accountable for the full recruitment lifecycle from obtaining the required approvals, drafting job descriptions, advertising across multiple channels, headhunting (where required) screening and shortlisting applications and attending interviews.

The role will also play a key part in the HR Operations delivery roadmap, taking the lead on redesigning how we recruit as an organisation with the aim of enhancing and developing our current practices to ensure best in class and effective ways of working.


Accountabilities with Key Outcomes: 

  1. Act as the 1st point of contact for the business and Heads of HR on any recruitment needs across all City Football Group (CFG), Manchester City Football Club (MCFC) and international clubs where required – working to understand the resource requirements and then creating and managing plans for the acquisition of the best talent. Ensuring at all times a positive and engaging experience for hiring managers and candidates, always seeking ways to continuously improve our processes
  2. Undertake all activities as part of the recruitment lifecycle including obtaining the required approvals, drafting job descriptions, advertising across multiple channels, headhunting (where required) screening and shortlisting applications and attending interviews
  3. Ensure the recruitment system and trackers are maintained and kept up to date and used to monitor recruitment activity - providing analysis / reports to the HR Operations and wider HR team as and when required
  4. Act as the team Safeguarding & Equality & Diversity lead ensuring compliance for all new starters within the DBS process and ensuring our attraction methods focus on our ED&D commitments and strategies. Managing any queries or escalations as and when required
  5. Act as the visa and sponsorship lead ensuring processing of visas and sponsorship where required, liaising with external agencies & bodies on the production of any associated documentation
  6. Develop and manage strong relationships with our partner recruitment agencies, ensuring the PSL is updated
  7. Lead a project to enhance our talent acquisition delivery and processes, looking at enhancing and developing our current practices to drive continuous improvement


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:  


Extensive experience of managing the end-to-end recruitment process across multiple departments and disciplines

Past experience in organisations with varying worker types – e.g. employees, casual workers, consultants and freelancers

Expertise in utilising a breadth of attraction methods with strong direct sourcing experience including social media channels, Linked In and other job boards

Experience of managing an agency PSL and negotiating agency T&C’s

Knowledge and experience of recruiting for a diverse organisation, embedding best practice ED&I into talent acquisition

Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding practices

Experience of managing multiple BAU workloads alongside strategic project work

Excellent at building internal networks due to credibility and communication style



International Recruitment Experience and knowledge of visa / sponsorship processes

Knowledge and experience of other generalist HR advice – policies & procedures

A knowledge of HR systems- SAP Success Factors would be beneficial

Educated to A-level and/ or CIPD qualification
