Position Description 

Reporting to the Senior Counsel, the Paralegal will assist attorneys and others in the department in managing and administering any and all legal matters.


Primary Responsibilities 

• Handling a variety of general corporate legal matters with a focus on contracts and intellectual property

• Creating and managing the process for contract management, including creation of a contracts playbook that will include boilerplate and standard terms

• Organizing and updating U.S. Soccer’s SafeSport training completion data for employees through review of the Center for SafeSport’s training progress report

• Working with lawyers to manage trademark portfolio filings, trademark portfolio, and copyright and licensing matters

• Interfacing with law firms regarding billing matters and managing process

• Handling intermediary process, including responses to emails and calls

• Assisting on special projects (PowerPoint, using technology to increase efficiency, etc.)

• High level of organization skills necessary


Minimum Qualifications

• College degree or paralegal certification and five to seven years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Able and willing to travel as necessary 

• Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends as needed


Desired Qualifications

• Spanish-speaking preferred

• Experience with contracts and contract management preferred 

• Ability to work independently, while coordinating and communicating with other members of the legal/compliance team throughout the process

• Team player

• Honesty and integrity

• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and functional teams

• Ability to work collaboratively with co-workers in a small department

• Clear understanding of the delineation of responsibilities between an attorney and a paralegal

• Maintain confidentiality in work performed

• Ability to manage multiple, co-current tasks

• High-level of attention to detail 

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
