Job Description

Role Accountabilities & Key Duties

To support the planning, implementation and delivery of the provision within identified local Community ‘at risk’ groups, that may include (but not be limited to): Social Inclusion, Areas of Deprivation, County Lines, Criminality

Increasing youth work and participation, Leadership, Mentoring, Coach Education, Football development, Enrichment, Transition (Schools/Community), Healthy lifestyles

Maintaining relationships with external partners

Empower each young person to develop a range of new skills, encouraging them to reflect upon their own progress and development

Follow AFC Bournemouth Community Sport Trust safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all young people

To perform other duties as required, which are considered relevant to the post and to the objectives of AFC Bournemouth Community Trust

To liaise with line manager regarding success and considerations to improve participation and quality of experience to participants





Experience of working with young people to achieve associated KPI’s and outcomes

Able to work within a diverse community and draw on individual strengths to promote equality and diversity

Ability to work collaboratively with partner organisations and provide a holistic approach to improving lives of vulnerable young people

Youth Work Qualification – Minimum Level 2 (or equivalent)

Ability to be a team player, but able to work within your own initiative

Existing Safeguarding Certificate, and an understanding of safeguarding requirements

A passion for the Community and making a difference to the lives of young people

Excellent knowledge and understanding of safeguarding including procedures, thresholds, and case management

A creative and positive attitude towards continual professional development

Hold a current full driving licence and access to a vehicle

Be able to connect and relate to young people who display challenging behaviour

Be committed to working flexible hours (including evenings and weekends)

Emergency First Aid qualification

Excellent communication and organisational skills, both verbal and written

Strong time management skills

Promote the brand, core values and ethos of AFC Bournemouth Community Trust in a strong and positive manner



 A degree in a relevant subject (such as Sports Development, Youth Work)

A football coaching qualification

Knowledge of Bournemouth and surrounding areas
