Job Description

SBG Sports Software develops professional data and video analysis and visualisation software tools for elite sports teams and officials. Our applications are used by a variety of customers in the Premier League, Champions League, Bundesliga, MLS, Formula 1, and Formula E.

SBG are looking for a highly motivated customer support product specialist to join our growing support department. The ideal candidate will have practical experience of performance analysis, ideally in football, but we would consider performance analysts from other sports. They must also be able to handle the technical demands of a match day setup with regards to networking and video. You must have excellent written and spoken English and the ability to communicate clearly, plus a keen interest in sports.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support users with technical and operational issues via phone, Zoom, email or onsite visits.
  • Create, update, and maintain demonstration and training materials.
  • Deliver online and in-person customer demos and training sessions.
  • Investigate, reproduce, log and update customer issues in Jira and escalate critical issues as appropriate.
  • Test functionality, performance, and stability of all our software applications.
  • Provide bug reports and UX/UI feedback to the Project Manager and development team.
  • Improve the quality and reliability of our products.
  • Interview and work with sports club analysts to understand their needs and provide feedback to the development team.

 

Experience and Skills

  • Practical experience of performance analysis in football or other sport.
  • Knowledge and interest in football, rugby and/or other sports (previous experience preferred).
  • Basic understanding of video and data networking.
  • Well organized with good time management.
  • Ability to work on several projects at once.
  • Ability to meet agreed deadlines and reliably produce specified deliverables.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) for interacting with customers, developers, and managers.
  • A logical and meticulous approach with good attention to detail.
  • Evening and weekend work will be required as this is when most sporting events take place.
  • Willingness to travel to sporting events for customer support and training.

Bonus skills

  • Previous experience working with football event, tracking, GPS or coding data and applications such as Opta, STATS, Hudl, STATSports, Catapult.
  • Functional knowledge of video cameras, digital media files, and/or software such as Final Cut, Keynote, Coach Paint.
  • Knowledge of networking and system administration tools on macOS and MS Windows.
  • Degree level qualification in performance analysis, sports science, or data science.
  • Ability to understand and use software development environments.
  • Additional language fluency (German, Spanish, Italian, French)
