Job Description

Austin FC joined Major League Soccer (MLS) as the 27th club in January 2019. Austin FC will officially begin play in 2021 in the new, 100% privately financed, $260 million, state-of-the-art Q2 Stadium in Austin.

Austin FC is actively seeking part-time groundskeepers to join the Grounds team. The person who takes this role will have the opportunity to work alongside turf management and landscaping professionals.  
This unique role will establish the core identity of a major league brand from the earliest stages in a once-in-a-lifetime and career-defining opportunity. The position is based in Austin, TX. Austin has continuously been selected by U.S. News and World Report as a top city to live in the last six years, while Forbes placed it at the top of its “Cities of the Future” list.

You Will:
  • Aid in the field maintenance of Q2 Stadium and St. David’s Performance Center; and
  • Maintain the surrounding landscape of the Austin FC Stadium; and 
  • Work with Grounds and Stadium Ops team and assist in preparation for Austin FC home matches and other events and learn from the different requirements needed for different events; and
  • Perform various other duties from time to time as assigned by the Assistant Director of Grounds.
You Have:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Ability to read, speak and comprehend English to collaborate effectively with others to produce results.
  • Ability to hear, comprehend, and disseminate instructions and vital information especially in the event of emergencies.  Will maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and move continuously during work hours.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative.
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
