Fixed Term Contract until August 2022 (with potential to extend subject to funding).

Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation (MFCF) is the club’s independent charity set up in 1996 by Chairman Steve Gibson. We use the power of the MFC brand to engage with the community to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people and adults to maximise their potential to achieve.

Based at MFCF’s offices at the Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough this is an exciting and unique opportunity to be involved in a growing and passionate team within an award-winning professional football club charity. You will use the influence of sport to deliver positive change in the lives of individuals and groups within the local communities. You will impact our communities and help create a more inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment for all.

The Role:

  • Delivering sessions across a range of MFC Foundation programmes, including but not limited to, National Citizen Service (NCS), health & wellbeing, equality workshops, mental health and Premier League Kicks
  • Delivering provision in primary and secondary educational settings that are safe, high quality and impactful
  • Promote change and positively challenge discrimination
  • Promote the vision, mission and core values of MFC Foundation
  • Engage and aid development of community-based initiatives
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive practices, ensuring equal opportunities for all
  • Deliver sport and physical activity sessions with youth and adult groups
  • Be committed to continuous personal professional development
  • Build trusted and reliable relationships as a role model for young people

Candidates should:

  • Possess Level 2 sports coaching qualification from a recognised National Governing Body
  • Have an understanding and passion for improving the ability, opportunity and dignity of disadvantaged people in our communities
  • Have experience in delivering educational workshops and sports provision within disadvantaged communities and possess a passion for the community and making a difference to the lives of young people.
  • Be able to engage with all groups within our communities, developing and supporting opportunities for under-represented groups or individuals
  • Be able to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of first class safeguarding practices.
  • Be comfortable leading delivery of sport-based and educational sessions
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to adapt communication methods to best engage within a variety of settings
  • Ensure all targets are met within sessions and support the development of MFC Foundation programmes
  • Be flexible since evening and/or weekend working, with travel, will be required in relation to delivery timetables
  • Hold a valid driving licence and have access to own transport
  • Be eligible to work in the UK
