Job Description

JOB TITLE: Social Media Executive
DEPARTMENT: Communications
REPORTING TO: Global Social Media Manager
JOB FUNCTION: Delivering the Club’s social media strategy and content creation globally across a range of platforms, delivering effective digital campaigns and bringing value to the Club and its partners. Assisting in delivery of the Club’s strategic messages.
LOCATION: Stamford Bridge
CONTRACT: Permanent 
•   Day-to-day management of Chelsea FC’s social media presence across platforms: from the creation and publication of content to community engagement, with a constant focus on improving performance month on month.
•   Planning weekly content and taking ownership of the global social media content calendar.
•   Social media community management, driving continued growth in Chelsea’s social media fanbase and reaching new audiences.
•   Content creation – from photography and video to social copy.
•   Proactively seek new opportunities for content and stories across the club’s social media ecosystem.
•   Analyse and report on Chelsea’s performance across all social media channels, using findings to inform future direction of content and campaigns.
•   Work with our partnerships team to deliver campaigns and digital value for partners.
•   Maximise content opportunities across channels using appropriate software to produce content that is optimised for specific platforms.
•   Provide extensive, creative and innovative coverage during match days home and away, as required.
•   Promote the equality, diversity and inclusion work of the Club and effectively communicating the Club values.
•   Work with our in-house video production team, Chelsea TV, to deliver social-first video content.
•   Work with our brand marketing team to deliver campaigns that drive awareness of the Club among existing and new audiences.
•   Help drive awareness and usage of Club products such as the 5th Stand app, collaborating effectively with the Marketing Department to do so.
•       Delivery against Club social media targets.
•       Effective communication with teammates and other teams.
•       Proactivity of approach including ideation and iteration of content.
•   Degree-level education
•   Minimum two years relevant digital/social media experience, preferably working for a global brand
•   Knowledge of and interest in football and its unique position within social media
•   A natural storyteller – with exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as editorial judgement
•   An understanding of the role that social media plays in sports fan engagement
•   Able to demonstrate a passion, curiosity and fluency in digital and social media
•   A keen interest in cultural trends and an eye for what’s coming next
•   Must be comfortable with out-of-hours work and working reactively to tight deadlines
•   Track record of increasing reach and engagement through own ideas and individual management of social accounts
•   Passionate about social media and new technologies
•   Familiarity with social analytics, monitoring and publishing software
•   A team player with confidence to take the lead and guide other employees where necessary
•   Can think quickly and be decisive in high pressure situations
•   Very strong attention to detail
•   Experience using video editing software
•   Photoshop skills
•   Familiarity of working with high-profile figures
•   Foreign language desirable but not essential
