Job Description

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Buyer to join our Retail Head Office on a temporary basis,  at Celtic Park, reporting to the Merchandising Manager.   

Key accountabilities:

  • Planning, selecting and developing new products across several categories according to the department needs and within the required budget.
  • Sourcing products from the UK and Far East.
  • Optimising the category range, width and depth and reacting to the market to maximise sales.
  • Monitoring product sales and performance and resolve any issues or potential problems.
  • Development and management of additional online exclusive products.
  • Maximising margin and identifying best sellers.
  • Maintaining relationships with suppliers and sourcing new suppliers where necessary.
  • Managing outstanding orders and cash flow for deliveries.
  • Managing Critical Path and the sample process.
  • Liaising with the Marketing department regarding promotions, social media, product placement through Celtic TV and photo shoots for advertising material and online images.
  • Reviewing trends in relation to our environment.
  • Liaising with the Stores Area Manager regarding visual guidelines for the stores through range booklets.
  • Managing brand identity including the packaging, labelling and communication with Brand Protection and Customs.
  • Managing factory standards and product safety information.
  • Assisting and supporting colleagues within the Buying and Merchandising team.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Self-motivated with a pro-active attitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using computers and all Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • At least 2 years’ experience within Buyer or Assistant Buyer role.
