Job Description

Purpose: This position is responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions for the Finance department.  This person will report to the Accounting Director. The Accountant - Accounts Payable will work with all departments for payments to vendors. 
 
Essential Functions/ Major Responsibilities:
Account Payables 
o   Manage per diem/cash requests
o   Manage Accounts Payable process
o   Create processes to improve efficiency 
o   Process all accounts payable 
o   Resolve discrepancies on statements
o   Track, record and reconcile all credit card transactions
o   Participate on project team for accounting software migration
General Duties
o   Provide support and back up to other accounting functions
o   Ad hoc analysis upon request
o   Cover reception desk on occasion 
o   Other duties as assigned
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with applicable accounting coursework or previous accounts payable experience 
  • Attention to detail; strong organizational capability
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage to deadlines
  • Customer service oriented 
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to work independently when needed
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information
  • Proficient in all Microsoft office applications
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Expensify (or similar programs)
 
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting (waived with equivalent experience)
 
Experience:
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and all Microsoft office applications
  • Experience in Net Suite and Expensify preferred
