Manchester City’s research and innovation (R&I) strategy aims to deliver actionable insights to coaches, practitioners, and players which, positively influence evolution of daily training and match preparation. Our aim is to create football’s most progressive and engaging training environments which, help Man City to consistently challenge for major trophies.
The post holder will lead the planning and implementation of R&I projects. You will coordinate Man City’s science, medicine, and performance analysis practitioners’ collaboration with internal stakeholders such as the Data Insights and Decisions Technology (DIDT), IT and Legal Teams, and external partners including universities, industry experts, Research Councils, and the Manchester Institute of Health and Performance (MIHP) to deliver R&I projects’ objectives on time and within budget. You will organise people, tasks and resources to bring about successful outcomes with performance impact.

Experience of managing relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds and expertise
Budget management and understanding of budget codes and cost centres
Undergraduate degree in a related field
Excellent computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and experience of databases
Highly organised with an eye for detail, strong general administration and record keeping skills
Ability to observe and maintain confidentiality and manage information with discretion
Prepared to work extended hours on occasion during times of peak activity including evenings and weekends
Postgraduate degree in a related field
Proven record of effective project management support to a team / department
PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification
Working in a professional sporting environment
