Conference and Events Sales Executive

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Stoke City Football Club for a Conference and Events Sales Executive to support the venue team at the bet365 Stadium.

Reporting to the Conference and Events Manager, the purpose of the role is to generate income from meetings, events and conference hire at the bet365 Stadium.

Main Responsibilities

  • Managing and growing existing relationships with clients and agencies to drive incremental business.
  • Identifying and proactively sourcing new leads through industry working groups, exhibitions, and online platforms to maximise income and fill available capacity. 
  • Attending regular functions, conferences, shows or exhibitions to continually promote the venue.
  • Continually monitor sales activity to actively seek ways to upsell products and services.
  • Negotiating terms of sales, agreements and closing sales with customers.
  • Responding to customer queries and resolving their objections to encourage them to make a purchase.
  • Proactively responding to all inbound enquirers in a timely and professional manner, paying particular attention to the two hour window given from the point of agent contact.
  • Converting enquiries into sales by gathering information, discussing packages, providing customers with detailed, accurate quotations and cost calculations and carrying out follow up calls.
  • Cross selling and upselling to support other commercial revenue teams. 
  • Working flexibly to meet the needs of customers on event days.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and build rapport with customers.
  • Ability to remain positive in challenging situations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Full UK Driving License and previous sales experience is desirable.

The ideal candidate will be available to work evenings and weekends to cover match day fixtures and events as required.

The position will be offered on a full time basis. All relevant training will be provided.
