The Role

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Assistant Academy Recruitment Coordinator to support the operations and experience of trialists, EDC and Pre-Academy players entering the Spurs Academy environment. The role will be pivotal in providing a positive and professional experience for young players and their families as they navigate the trial process, while ensuring all logistics, communication, safeguarding and pastoral needs are met to the highest standard.

You will be the first point of contact for young players and their guardians and will play a key role in upholding the Club’s values throughout their time with us.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all Academy trialists and their parents/guardians, providing guidance and support throughout the trial process
  • Coordinate all logistics relating to trial periods, including scheduling, kit provision, facility access, and matchday arrangements
  • Work closely with coaching, recruitment, education, and medical staff to ensure each trialist’s experience is aligned with Club standards
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with internal departments and external contacts regarding trialist information and progress
  • Ensure safeguarding protocols are consistently upheld throughout the trialist journey
  • Deliver welcome briefings and induction information to trialists and families
  • Gather and relay appropriate feedback to players and parents, in collaboration with technical and recruitment staff
  • Ensure accurate and confidential record-keeping of trialist attendance, documentation, and outcomes using internal systems
  • Assist in the organisation and delivery of group trial events or assessment days
  • Assist in the organisation and delivery of EDC & Pre-Academy Events.
  • Provide pastoral support to trialists to ensure they feel comfortable, supported, and valued
  • Promote and embody the values of Tottenham Hotspur throughout all interactions with players and families

 

What You Will Bring

Specific Experience:

  • Experience working with young people in a sporting or educational environment
  • Understanding of youth development structures within elite football
  • Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and welfare responsibilities in youth sport
  • Experience managing logistics and schedules in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Previous experience in an academy or development setting is highly desirable

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and reassure young players and families
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Able to build rapport quickly with a wide range of individuals, including coaches, parents, and players
  • Sensitive to the pressures of trial periods and capable of supporting player welfare through empathy and professionalism
  • Committed to upholding safeguarding and welfare best practices
  • Resilient, reliable, and calm under pressure
  • A proactive team player with a flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends
  • IT literate, with experience using administrative and reporting systems
