Cheltenham Town FC are an ambitious League 2 Football Club looking to progress both on and off the pitch through a program of sustained investment in both the club, its infrastructure and most importantly, its’ people.
As the result of an ongoing period of expansion, we now have a need for an equally ambitious Managing Director to join the team on our journey.
Salary: Competitive and based on previous experience
Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Reporting to: Board of Directors
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and commercially astute Leader with a proven ability to operate at Senior Executive level, ideally within the sports, entertainment, or leisure sectors and have the following:
Senior Leadership Experience
Demonstrable experience in a senior management or executive role within the sports, entertainment, or leisure industries, with responsibility for strategic and operational delivery.
Facilities & Infrastructure Management
Strong background in facilities management, including oversight of stadium operations and delivery of infrastructure development projects.
Commercial & Revenue Generation Expertise
Proven track record of securing, negotiating, and delivering high-value sponsorship agreements. Ability to develop innovative customer engagement programmes and maximise revenue opportunities across multiple streams.
Team Leadership & Organisational Management
Significant experience in leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams across areas including:
- Facilities Management
- Ticketing Operations
- Retail & Merchandising
- Customer Services
- Community Engagement
- Ability to establish clear organisational structures, reporting lines, and accountability frameworks to ensure high performance and operational efficiency.

You will be a dynamic and commercially astute leader with the ability to inspire teams, build strong relationships and deliver results in a fast paced environment. A passion for football and an understanding of the wider sports landscape will be highly advantageous.
