Director of School Operations – Bristol Sport Foundation (full time)

JOB PURPOSE

Bristol Sport Foundation

As Director of School Operations, you will establish and maintain meaningful relationships with primary schools across the city. You will lead and develop a team of passionate delivery staff, shape an evidence informed evaluation framework, and take ownership of the financial sustainability of our schools programme, Forever Sport.

Key Responsibilities

• Build relationships with city wide schools to support physical activity, education, social action and mentoring. 
• Working alongside schools to design, plan and deliver the Foundation’s sport and movement education and coaching provision in schools. 
• Devise and implement a delivery staff development programme, supporting existing staff and bringing through new starters, 
• Data monitoring and evaluation of all schools’ delivery through regular case study collection, individual school relationship development and appropriate collective impact measurement. 
• Setting budgets and financial forecasting for sustainable delivery of funded and unfunded sessions in schools. 
• Adherence to safeguarding and safety protocols. 
• Implement and develop evidence informed evaluation framework strategy. 

Qualifications

• Level 2 Coaching Qualification (essential)
• AfPE Level 3 (desirable)
• Teaching Qualification (desirable)
• Level 2 (minimum) Safeguarding 

Experience

• Minimum of five years’ experience in both multi-sport development, delivery in schools and/or community engagement. 
• Strong understanding of government and funding streams. 
• An awareness and understanding of the national curriculum. 
• Budget and financial management experience (with support from respective Finance Controller). 
• Previous experience of managing and developing staff including coach development. 
• Strong teamwork and communication skills. 
• An understanding of safeguarding and trauma informed practice. 
• IT literate. 
• Full UK driving licence.

Salary: £38,000 – 42,000 per annum

Hours: Working hours: 37.5 hours/week, predominantly Monday – Friday between 8.45am and 4.45pm.

Contract type: Fixed term until August 31st, 2026 (extension likely, but dependent on funding).

Location: School and community based delivery across Bristol, South Glos, Banes and North Somerset. Office based at Ashton Gate Stadium.
