What is the role?
As a Marketing Manager for Southampton Football club, you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering integrated marketing campaigns that drive commercial revenue across men’s and women’s ticketing, hospitality, memberships and matchday secondary spend.
You will lead the club’s fan acquisition, CRM strategy and audience segmentation programme, growing both domestic and international fan databases and delivering personalised, insight‑led marketing journeys across email, paid media and owned digital channels.
This responsibility is across every area of the football club, including the areas mentioned above plus retail, conferences & events, special events as well as our new products including LEVEL1 & The Dell.
What will you be doing?
You’ll work with Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Venue Sales, plus other club stakeholders, to develop and deliver integrated marketing strategies that support key revenue streams across men’s and women’s ticketing, hospitality, memberships and matchday secondary spend. And own the marketing budgets across aforementioned areas of the club.
You’ll lead on hero revenue driving seasonal campaigns including Season Ticket, Membership and innovative matchday marketing across channels including paid social, paid search, display, owned digital (email, app, website), push notifications and traditional ATL media.
You’ll lead on acquisition of fan data, and how that data is then utilised across effective CRM marketing campaigns to drive commercial outcomes, including managing the direct / email marketing campaign schedule and collaborating across the marketing team to manage personalised messages to the right fans at the right time about the right products. The role allows you to manage external agency relationships to deliver results whilst working efficiently and cost-effectively.
You’ll develop and motivate a creative and data-led team of marketing & CRM executives, focused on men’s and women’s ticketing marketing & carrying out the day-to-day fan growth and direct marketing schedule. As well as collaborating with TURF, the club’s in-house creative studio, to produce outstanding and widely recognised creative work for marquee moments in the football calendar. Specifically focusing on Season Ticket campaign launch and matchday moments.
You’ll be responsible for the marketing effort for the club’s streaming platform, Saints Play, delivering revenue in-line with expected targets.
