Youth Phase Academy Coach (Boys) – U12–U15
o Deliver high-quality, game-realistic training sessions
o Support technical, tactical, physical, and psychological development
o Contribute to Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
o Prepare players for competitive fixtures
Girls’ Academy Coach –Under 13’s and Under 15’s (season 26/27)
o Deliver high-quality coaching sessions within the Girls’ Academy pathway
o Support long-term player development
o Promote a positive, high-performance culture
o Support talent identification and progression
Main Responsibilities/Description of Duties:
Coaching & Player Development
• Design, plan, and deliver age-appropriate training sessions and game-day coaching for your
phase.
• Develop and implement a coaching curriculum (games model, technical themes, progression) in
line with TNS Academy’s philosophy.
• Assist with Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for players, reviewing progress regularly.
• Conduct six-weekly (or periodic) formal player reviews and feedback meetings with players,
parents, and other stakeholders.
Programme & Operational Management
• Assist with the scheduling and organisation of training sessions, match fixtures, and any additional
games programme.
• Assist with the administrative side: attendance, session plans, resource allocation (equipment,
kits).
• Communicate on a regular basis with parents/guardians, other coaches, and other department
support staff (medical, analysis).
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., safeguarding, health & safety, FAW
performance plan).
Girls’ Academy Coach –Under 13’s and Under 15’s (season 26/27)
Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) Collaboration
• Work closely with the club’s multi-disciplinary team (sports science, medical, performance
analysis) to integrate holistic development.
• Participate in academy staff meetings to review player development, health, and performance.
Philosophy, Strategy & Continuous Improvement
• Promote and embed TNS FC’s playing style, values, and coaching philosophy across the phase.
• Contribute to the academy’s strategic planning: coaching curriculum development, long-term
pathway design, and coach education.
• Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of coaching practices and adjust based on feedback,
outcomes, and best practice.
Safeguarding & Welfare
• Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, ensuring a safe learning environment for all
academy players.
• Maintain regular communication with parents, supporting their understanding of development,
expectations, and feedback.
• Ensure all coaching staff within your phase are compliant with safeguarding training, DBS checks,
and club policies.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required
• Foundation Phase Academy Coach (Boys) – U10–U12 - UEFA B Licence
• Youth Phase Academy Coach (Boys) – U12–U15 - UEFA B Licence – working towards UEFA A
Licence
• Girls’ Academy Coach – Under 13’s and Under 15’s (season 26/27) - UEFA C Licence – working
towards UEFA B Licence
• Experience coaching in an Academy or youth development environment.
• Strong understanding of youth development, coaching methodology, and age-appropriate
practice design.
• Experience in writing and managing Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
• Excellent leadership skills.
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Good organisational skills with experience in planning, managing logistics, and administration.
• Commitment to player welfare, safeguarding, and child development
• A confident decision-maker.
• Strong IT skills with the ability to use e-mail, Microsoft Office
• Committed, enthusiastic and passionate about the health and well-being of academy football
players.
• Dedicated to self-improvement and continuous professional development.
• Willing to follow and promote the philosophy of the Club.
• Personable and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic.
